July exhibition: Abstract Flashbacks

The Downtown Artist Collective is pleased to announce the group exhibition of Salt Lake City artists Nathan Mulford and Larry S Cohen in Salt Lake City. The opening reception is Friday, July 19th from 6pm – 9pm.

Larry S Cohen and Nathan Mulford are both abstract artists whose works probe the meaning of memory. They use color and texture as tools to better understand their past and make sense of the present. Abstract Flashbacks documents and deconstructs how we build these narratives and why they are important to us.

The show runs from July 19 through August 10. The gallery will be open Fridays from 6pm – 9pm, Saturdays from 11am – 6pm, and Sundays from 12pm – 6pm.

February Exhibition: Symbols and Allusions

Utah artists Nathan Mulford and Anthony Siciliano explore the roles that memory and symbolism plays in constructing personal narratives. By using both abstract and representational symbols and personal iconography, each artist describes how memory can be altered by time, experience, context, and perception. Nathan, through the media of painting and Anthony, through mixed media, uses symbolism to connect the audience to shared experiences where dreams and reality converges.
